Legacy Giving at Welcome House
Hope for the Journey
When you designate a planned gift you will be invited to join Hope for the Journey, a community of thoughtful supporters who are leaving a legacy of hope, care, and generosity for Welcome House.
A planned gift to Welcome House allows you to create a legacy for the community as you support recovery services for those suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. There are several ways to make a planned gift.
Wills and Living Trusts
Charitable bequests made through wills or revocable living trusts are a popular way to support Welcome House. Bequests are simple to arrange, offer flexibility, and can reduce estate taxes.
Retirement Plan Assets
In many cases, donating some or all of the assets from an IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement plan, is a smart option. Gifts can be made during your lifetime or through your estate.
Tax-Free IRA Contributions
The Tax Relief Act allows people over the age of 70-1/2 to donate as much as $100,000 from their IRAs and Roth IRAs to charity tax-free. These distributions count toward the required minimum annual distribution of IRA holders who are 70-1/2 or older. If contributed directly to charity, the donor is not required to pay income taxes on the withdrawal.
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Welcome House gratefully accepts alternative contributions such as: securities, life insurance, U.S. Savings Bonds, annuity contracts, tangible personal property, and real estate.
